The incredibly accurate Fieldcraft® System takes the guesswork out of grafting,
minimizing the skill required while ensuring maximum graft results.
Saving 50% of your labour cost
Increasing your graft take
Reducing your labor time
Labor cost saving. Untrained help can be utilized. With the skill taken away from grafting, beginners and professionals alike will achieve the same high success rate of grafts, resulting in a saving of labor cost by utilizing inexperienced help. The skilled worker will reduce his risk of graft failure, eliminate the tedium from his job and have time to spare.
Increasing your graft take. Because of the exact fitting cut, exclusion of any air ensures maximum cambium contact resulting in strong tidy grafts. A skilled person using a knife cannot match the speed, accuracy or consistency of the machine. Neither can a bench-mounted machine that cuts only the scion wood match this accuracy.
Time saving. With one person sizing, another cutting and a cadet taping, or an experienced man doing the entire chore they still move on to the next job with only a fraction of the time normally spent on the grafting operation The exact fitting cut also simplifies the taping operation.
Proven results. High quality workmanship has gone into the manufacture of these grafters and both machines have been extensively tested with the same high near to 100% of successful grafts resulting from kiwifruit, grapes, avocados, persimmons, nuts, ornamental, stone and pip fruit trees .
Durability. The Fieldcraft machines are sturdily made - guaranteed to withstand year after year of heavy work. The replaceable blades are long lasting requiring only regular sharpening to keep them in 'as new' condition. |
TO USE TOPGRAFTER
1. Place wood up under skirt of blades then bring blades and wood down gently onto center anvils.
2. Make sure wood is centered on anvils then close handles with a sharp action.
3. For field grafting the same procedure is followed with grafter turned on its side and with the other hand steadying the wood. Hook the blades over the wood then bring the anvils to meet the wood. Check to ensure all are centered on the anvils, then close handles sharply to make the cut.
4. Ensure the female V, is in the rootstock (not ^).
The highly tempered steel blades handle wood from 3mm to 20mm (1/8 to 1 3/4) without adjustment of any kind. They have a clean slicing action and handle both soft and hard wood equally well and without bruising,
A small efficient tool weighing approx. 1kg, the Fieldcraft topgrafter executes the long V cut most popular. |
